Understanding the World
The curriculum is well planned to help children develop an understanding of their place in the local community and recognising the features of nature because of the rich natural experiences on offer daily and throughout the year. Adults talk about weekly excursions in the community to buy different fruit, visit local religious buildings and make use of the community park. They select these places to help talk about difference and seasonal change. The children weekly go into the community to explore learning beyond the Nursery. The purpose of each community walk is directed by the skill teaching or gaps in knowledge that has been observed by key persons.
