Head of school / Day Care Manager 's message

Dear parents and carers, We have had another busy and vibrant week at Muriel Green Nursery, packed with learning, laughter, and wonderful opportunities to explore the world around us.

A real highlight was the Nursery School’s visit to the market, where the children had the chance to discover a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. This tied in beautifully with our structured story of the week, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” The children loved making real-life connections from the story, enthusiastically spotting different fruits that appeared in the book and using their senses to touch, smell and even name their favourites. These experiences not only enrich their understanding of the story but also support language development and strengthen their curiosity about healthy foods.

Back at nursery, the children have continued to relish the spring sunshine with plenty of outdoor play, gardening, and teamwork in all our activities.

A reminder that Monday 13th April is an INSET day both Nursery School and Day care are closed all day that day and we return on Tuesday 14th April.

Have a wonderful holiday.

Success Story of the Week!

This week in Acorn Room we have really immersed ourselves in our story, Leo the Noisy Lion. The children explored a range of jungle-themed materials, feeling different textures and talking about what they noticed. They particularly enjoyed stamping the animals into the playdough to make footprints, and squeezing the playdough as we talked about feeling cross like the animals in the story. This has supported their Personal, Social and Emotional Development, as well as Communication and Language. We have also been practising our loud and quiet “Roars”, which the children have loved joining in with confidently!
