Head of school message
Today, we say goodbye to some of our wonderful children as they prepare to move on to reception classes or new schools this September. We are so proud of all they have achieved during their time with us. It has been a joy to watch them grow into such a curious, active, and enthusiastic cohort.
Over the year, they’ve welcomed a range of guests, watched eggs hatch, listened to stories in different languages, sung with Electric Umbrella, explored local landmarks, mixed potions, and embraced every muddy puddle with joy and excitement. What an incredible journey it has been!
To you the parents and carers; thank you so much for letting us be a small part of your children’s early years. It’s been an honour. We wish each and every one of them the very best in their next adventures. Good luck, our superstars!
Executive Head message
I would like to take a moment to express our deepest thanks and appreciation to Hayley Yendell, who will be leaving Muriel Green at the of Summer. Over the years Hayley has brought unwavering commitment, warmth and care to our Nursery Schools. Her Leadership has been marked by a genuine passion for early education, a thoughtful approach to nurturing each child's potential, and a strong belief in the power of working in partnership with families. Through her vision and tireless efforts, Hayley has played a pivotal role in shaping the ethos and direction of the Roots Federation. She has helped create environments where children are inspired to learn, staff are supported to grow, and families feel welcomed and valued. While we will miss her presence and leadership greatly, we know she will continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of many children and families in her new role as Headteacher of an Infants School in Hertfordshire.
On behalf of all the staff, children, and families at Muriel Green and across Roots Federation, we thank Hayley for her many years of hard work, dedication, and care. We wish her every success and happiness in this next chapter of her career.

As the academic day came to a close, the children prepared a special Goodbye Song for the parents who came to see them. The song symbolised the sense of community we cherish and the warmth we strive to create here at Muriel Green Nursery.
