Head of school message
As we come to the end of a particularly hot week, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our incredible staff for their commitment and care during the extreme heat. Despite the challenging conditions, they have worked tirelessly to ensure that your children remained safe, regulated, and as happy as possible. Staff adapted plans to create calm activities, ensured sunscreen was applied regularly, scheduled frequent drink breaks, and made thoughtful use of the cooler areas within the building to give children some relief from the heat. All of this was achieved while managing children who, understandably, were more tired and less regulated than usual. It’s important to acknowledge that our staff had very little opportunity to escape the heat themselves, yet they continued to prioritise the wellbeing of the children at every moment.
A huge thank you to each and every one of them!

BIRCH rOOM
Book & Rhyme of the week

For the next three weeks in Birch Room, our focus book will be Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts. To deepen the children’s understanding and engagement, we will use a sensory story experience alongside the reading. This hands-on approach allows the children to explore the story through touch, smell, sound, and movement. They will have the chance to feel slippery shaving foam, smell fresh oranges and salty water, hear bubbling and gulping sounds, and even swirl water like Stanley’s journey through the body. This immersive experience helps bring the story to life and makes learning both fun and memorable.

Home Learning:
In line with the story we're sharing in Birch Room consider allowing your child to have a seaside experience. This could involve sounds such as waves, seagulls or whale song or something physical like salt water or sand.
Success Story of the Week!
We're thrilled to share the wonderful achievements and success in Nursery school this week.
Story Map Ownership
The children in Nursery school have truly impressed us by taking ownership of the Story Map activity. Inspired by their teacher's guidance, the children showed incredible initiative by creating their own story maps. This not only demonstrates their growing creativity and comprehension skills but also highlights their ability to learn through imitation and exploration. We're so proud of their progress and enthusiasm for storytelling!
Afternoon Sport Event: A Heart-warming Success
This week’s Afternoon Sport event was a huge success, and we were genuinely amazed and delighted to see so many parents coming out to support their children. Your presence not only encouraged the children but also promoted a wonderful sense of community within our nursery. Watching the children play, interact, and enjoy the activities with beaming smiles was truly heart-warming. Your engagement made the event even more special, and we appreciate your encouragement and involvement.
Thank you for your continuous support and for being such an integral part of our nursery community. We look forward to many more successful and joyful moments together.
