Head of school / Day Care Manager 's message

Dear parents and carers,

This week we have made the most of the glorious sunshine, with plenty of time spent playing and exploring in our nursery garden. The children have especially enjoyed planting seeds together, learning about growth and caring for the natural world.

We’ve also had lively music sessions indoors and outdoors, with everyone listening, dancing, and moving to the rhythm—fantastic for building confidence, coordination, and joy. It’s been heartwarming to watch the older children help each other, share, and build friendships supporting the younger children as they play. Friendship, laughter, and teamwork have been at the heart of every day, ensuring every child feels included and valued.

Our aim is always to provide a nurturing and inspiring space where learning happens through play and exploration. With spring in full bloom and our garden adventures continuing, we’re looking forward to an exciting term filled with new discoveries and happy memories.

A reminder that Monday 13th April is an INSET day both Nursery School and Day care are closed

How many leaves are on that plant?

Which plant has more flowers?

Birch Room
BooK & Rhyme of the week

Rhyme of the Week:
The Wheels on the Bus – Children will join in with familiar actions like wipers, wheels, doors and horns, using repetition, gestures and shared anticipation to engage with the rhyme.

Focus Skill:
We are focusing on early communication, supporting choice-making and requesting through adult modelling, anticipation and simple people games.

Ideas for Home:
Sing the rhyme together and pause before key actions (e.g., “the wheels go round…”) to give your child time to respond with gestures, signs, or words. Offer simple choices such as “wheels or doors?” to encourage intentional communication. Repeating the rhyme and celebrating your child’s attempts helps build confidence in expressing their wants and making choices.

Success Story of the Week!

In Conker Room we have been exploring bubble art. We used a bubble gun to fire paint bubbles onto paper, taking turns and working together to create a giant piece of artwork. Squeezing the bubble gun helps to strengthen the muscles in our hands, supporting our fine motor skills and early writing development (Physical Development – moving and handling; Expressive Arts and Design).

We also enjoyed taking turns to blow bubbles outside in the sunshine. Blowing bubbles helps to build the muscles in our mouths, which is important for developing clear speech and supporting early language skills (Communication and Language – speaking; Personal, Social and Emotional Development – turn-taking).
