Head of school / Day Care Manager 's message
Dear parents and carers, As we come to the end of another wonderful year, we want to take this time to say goodbye to some very special members of our Nursery School team as they move on to exciting new opportunities.
Firstly, we would like to congratulate Tabitha, who has recently qualified as a teacher. She will be starting teaching her very own Year 2 class in September, a fantastic achievement and one that reflects all of her hard work and dedication. We know she will be an incredible teacher and wish her every success in her new role.
We also say goodbye to Sophie, who is beginning the next step of her own teaching journey by starting her teaching degree in September. We are so proud of her and know that her passion, kindness and enthusiasm will make her a wonderful teacher in the future.
Emma will also be leaving Muriel Green but staying within the Roots Federation. She will be joining Heath Lane as the School Improvement Lead. Whilst we will miss her greatly, we know she will make a huge difference as she has done at Muriel Green, and we wish her every success in her new position.
Last week, we also said farewell to Tracy from Birch Room, who has moved on to support another nursery with her wealth of knowledge and experience. We know she will be a tremendous asset to her new setting.
To Tabitha, Sophie, Emma and Tracy, thank you. Thank you for the care, commitment and dedication you have shown to the children, families and staff at Muriel Green. Each of you has made a lasting contribution to our nursery, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you have done. We wish you every happiness and success as you begin your exciting new chapters.
Finally, we are delighted to welcome Tatjana to the Muriel Green family. Tatjana will be joining our Nursery School team in September, and we are looking forward to introducing her to our children and families. We know you will all make her feel very welcome.

We understand that changes, such as moving to a new room or starting a new school, can bring up many big feelings. Next week, we are focusing on how to navigate these transitions together.
We will gently explore the different emotions children might feel and talk about how to share those thoughts with an adult. We’ll also practise finding ways to feel calm when we are worried. Additionally, we’ll be building independence by practising putting on our own socks and shoes, encouraging the children to keep trying—because every little step is a big success!

success of the week
We are so proud of how successfully the children have transitioned between the Conker and Willow rooms, as well as Willow Room to Nursery school.
It has been such a delight to see them embrace these changes with so much confidence and interest. The children have settled into their new environments beautifully, quickly getting involved in the activities. It is wonderful to watch them grow and develop as they explore these new, exciting spaces.
Thank you to all the staff for your continued care, support, and encouragement throughout the transitions.

signs of the week

All absences must be reported to the school either by leaving an absence message or emailing admin@murielgreen.herts.sch.uk, We politely ask that if you plan to take your child out during school time, you notify the Nursery office. For appointments, we ask where possible that these are not during the school day. If this is not avoidable, please kindly share the relevant information for this appointment in order for us to be able to authorise this. Regular attendance at Nursery is very important, as it helps children build the foundational knowledge and skills they will need as they move through school. Establishing good attendance habits now supports a smoother transition into primary school and helps ensure children develop positive routines that will benefit them throughout their educational journey. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child attend regularly and on time.
