Head of school / Day Care Manager 's message
Dear Parent
We love celebrating a diverse range of special events together, this week we have talked a lot about celebrations and traditions with the children; we enjoyed Pancake Day by making and tasting pancakes and practising our flipping skills. The children tried dates as we talked about Ramadan traditions, our Reception area had a lovely Chinese New Year display. The children were able to practice using chopsticks and tasting noodle, Conker Room enjoyed making a dragon and decorating it. These celebrations help children appreciate different cultures, develop respect and foster an inclusive community where everyone's traditions are valued and enjoyed.
Have a lovely Weekend.

Birch Room
Book & Rhyme of the week
Rhyme of the Week: Humpty Dumpty
Children will enjoy listening to and joining in with this familiar rhyme, using actions, anticipation and shared attention during key moments of the song.

Ideas for Home:
Share Humpty Dumpty together and pause before the “great fall” to give your child time to anticipate, gesture or vocalise. Offer simple choices (e.g. “again or finished?”) and model words, signs or actions to support requesting. Repeating the rhyme and waiting for your child’s response helps build confidence in intentional communication.
Focus Skill:
We are focusing on early communication, supporting choice-making and requesting through adult modelling, turn-taking, anticipation and simple people games.

Success Story of the Week!
This week has been full of wonderful celebrations across all our rooms. The children have been talking about the special events we have shared together. To mark Shrove Tuesday, Willow Room and Nursery School created a fantastic pancake-themed display in their playdough areas, rolling, flipping and “serving” pancakes to friends. We also recognised the first day of Ramadan and Chinese New Year, with the children all having the opportunity to taste noodles and talk about different foods and traditions. In Acorn Room, the children especially enjoyed their water play, splashing, pouring and exploring. We are so proud of their curiosity, enthusiasm and growing understanding of the wider world.
