Head of school / Day Care Manager 's message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As another week draws to a close at Muriel Green Nursery, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the wonderful experiences the children have enjoyed.

Our time with the ducklings and chicks has come to an end as they have now returned to the farm, but what precious memories we have made! The children were absolutely fascinated watching them grow and transform each day. They especially loved the chance to gently stroke the chicks and ducklings. One of the highlights was watching the ducklings have their first swims, there were lots of giggles as the children saw how naturally the ducklings took to the water!

With the weather becoming warmer and sunnier, the children have been spending even more time outdoors, exploring, playing, and learning together.

We kindly ask that all parents apply sun cream to their children before attending nursery/Daycare each morning,

Wishing you a relaxing and sunny weekend!

Warmest regards,

BooK & Rhyme of the week

Rhyme of the Week: Down by the Station
Children will enjoy joining in with train actions, using their hands and bodies to “chug” along and bring the rhyme to life.

Ideas for Home:
Encourage your child to take part in small hand movements such as drawing lines, making marks, or pushing and pulling toys like trains. Activities like threading, stacking or using playdough can help build hand strength and control. Copying simple actions and patterns supports coordination and confidence.

Focus Skill:

We are focusing on fine motor skills and mark making, developing hand strength, coordination and imitation through fine motor play, mark making and structured adult-led activities.

Success Story of the Week!

This week in the Nursery Room, the children have been developing their understanding of how to care for plants and living things. They have taken responsibility for planting and watering, and for looking after small animals in a safe and gentle way. The children have especially enjoyed caring for the ducklings, showing interest in their food, water, sleeping and toileting routines. They have also planted cress seeds and watched them grow, and helped to water the tomato, potato and strawberry plants in the garden. These experiences support Understanding the World and Personal, Social and Emotional Development
