As another Nursery School year comes to a close, it is hard to believe just how quickly the time has passed. Looking back over the year, I feel incredibly proud of everything our children have achieved. From their very first day through the doors into nursery to becoming confident, curious and independent learners, it has been a privilege to watch them grow.

To our wonderful children who are leaving us for Primary School, we wish you every happiness and success as you begin your next adventure. You have filled Muriel Green with laughter, kindness, imagination and joy, and although we will miss you very much, we know you are more than ready for this exciting new chapter. Remember to be brave, be curious and always believe in yourselves.

To the children who will be returning to us in September, have a fantastic summer filled with fun, adventures and special family moments. We cannot wait to hear all about your holidays and welcome you back for another exciting year of learning together.

Finally, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our parents and carers for your continued support throughout the year. Your kindness, encouragement and partnership play such an important part in your children's journey, and we are truly grateful for the trust you place in us every day.

Although the Nursery School term is coming to an end, our Day care remains open throughout the summer, and we look forward to continuing to welcome many of our families over the coming weeks.

Have a wonderful, safe and restful summer.

                     success of the week

This week, we harvested the potatoes grown on our patio. The children searched carefully through the soil and were delighted to discover potatoes in different sizes—some large, several medium-sized and a few small ones. We compared and counted them, supporting curiosity and early Mathematics. This hands-on activity also helped the children understand how food grows, linking to Understanding the World within the EYFS statutory framework. We talked about the different ways potatoes can be prepared, including chips, mashed potatoes and roast potatoes. Later, Katrina boiled our home-grown potatoes, and everyone had the opportunity to taste them at snack time.

All absences must be reported to the school either by leaving an absence message or emailing admin@murielgreen.herts.sch.uk, We politely ask that if you plan to take your child out during school time, you notify the Nursery office. For appointments, we ask where possible that these are not during the school day. If this is not avoidable, please kindly share the relevant information for this appointment in order for us to be able to authorise this. Regular attendance at Nursery is very important, as it helps children build the foundational knowledge and skills they will need as they move through school. Establishing good attendance habits now supports a smoother transition into primary school and helps ensure children develop positive routines that will benefit them throughout their educational journey. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child attend regularly and on time.
