Head of school message
Dear parents and carers,
It has been another lovely week at Muriel Green, and it is wonderful to see the children so happy, settled and busy in their play. There is a real sense of everyone finding their rhythm now, with lots of curiosity, growing confidence and friendships developing across the nursery.
A big thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan Coffee Morning. It was lovely to see our families coming together to support such an important cause, and we really appreciate all of your generosity.
You may also have spotted our brand-new buggy park in the car park, which has replaced our rather tired old one! It is looking much smarter and gives our families a safe, sheltered and convenient place to leave buggies during the day. We hope you enjoy this little improvement to our Muriel Green environment.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend!

Success Story of the Week!
This week in Willow Room, the children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the story The Gruffalo through a range of sensory, imaginative, and creative experiences. The children took part in sensory activities inspired by the characters from the story, including Gruffalo crumble, snake, rat, and owl-themed sensory play. They showed great curiosity as they explored different textures, smells, and materials using their senses. We also created a special Gruffalo role-play area with all the story characters, which the children loved. They enthusiastically retold parts of the story, took on different character roles, and used their imagination to create their own adventures, helping to develop their communication and social skills. In addition, the children enjoyed a creative activity where they used recycled materials and paint to make their own Gruffalo models. They demonstrated excellent concentration, creativity, and fine motor skills while selecting materials and bringing their ideas to life. Through these activities, the children developed skills across several areas of learning, including Communication and Language by discussing the story and describing textures, Personal, Social and Emotional Development through cooperative play and sharing ideas, Physical Development by strengthening fine motor skills, Literacy through story recall and character recognition, Understanding the World by exploring different materials, and Expressive Arts and Design by using their imagination and creativity in both role play and art activities. We are incredibly proud of the children's enthusiasm and engagement throughout the week.

sign of the Week

All absences must be reported to the school either by leaving an absence message or emailing admin@murielgreen.herts.sch.uk, We politely ask that if you plan to take your child out during school time, you notify the Nursery office. For appointments, we ask where possible that these are not during the school day. If this is not avoidable, please kindly share the relevant information for this appointment in order for us to be able to authorise this. Regular attendance at Nursery is very important, as it helps children build the foundational knowledge and skills they will need as they move through school. Establishing good attendance habits now supports a smoother transition into primary school and helps ensure children develop positive routines that will benefit them throughout their educational journey. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child attend regularly and on time.
