Dear Parents and Carer
What a wonderful first week of the holidays we have had. The children have thoroughly enjoyed making the most of the warm weather with lots of exciting water play, developing their confidence, coordination and teamwork while having great fun staying cool.
Our staff created some fantastic tuff trays offering a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities. The children explored sensory materials, investigated different textures, practised their fine motor skills and used their imaginations through a variety of engaging invitations to play.
Our creative learning has been inspired by two much loved stories ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and ‘The Enormous Turnip’, talking about healthy eating and helping set up a lovely interactive display complete with their own artwork.
Thank you to all parents and carers for your patience with our new entry system this week.
Reminder:- Please label all your children belongings mostly hats, Many thanks

success of the week
It has been a wonderful, child-led week in the Willow room!
We know that children learn best when we follow their natural curiosity, so we listened closely as they shared their excitement about upcoming holidays and how they travel to reach them. Inspired by their interests, we created a fantastic immersion tray filled with different types of transport. This has been a brilliant way for the children to develop their imaginative play and understanding of the world.
We also held engaging group discussions using transport flashcards, helping to expand vocabulary and communication skills. It is so rewarding to see how our environment comes alive when we plan specifically around what the children love!

signs of the week

All absences must be reported to the school either by leaving an absence message or emailing admin@murielgreen.herts.sch.uk, We politely ask that if you plan to take your child out during school time, you notify the Nursery office. For appointments, we ask where possible that these are not during the school day. If this is not avoidable, please kindly share the relevant information for this appointment in order for us to be able to authorise this. Regular attendance at Nursery is very important, as it helps children build the foundational knowledge and skills they will need as they move through school. Establishing good attendance habits now supports a smoother transition into primary school and helps ensure children develop positive routines that will benefit them throughout their educational journey. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child attend regularly and on time.
