Head of school message
It’s been a busy and exciting week in both Daycare and Holiday Club, with children experiencing a wide variety of weather! Rain or shine, they’ve accessed the outdoors every day. We believe it’s vital for children to have first-hand experiences of different weather conditions to help them understand and appreciate the natural world around them. In an exciting development, we are investing in creating a bespoke outdoor area for our Conker and Willow rooms. We’ve carefully selected key pieces of equipment—including a large mud kitchen, a messy play station, and large chalkboards for mark making—to create a bespoke, engaging space that encourages exploration and creativity for some of our youngest learners. We will keep you posted on the progress of this area...

BIRCH rOOM
Book & Rhyme of the week

After half term, Birch Room will be joining Nursery School in exploring the beloved children’s book Owl Babies by Martin Waddell. The story follows three baby owls—Sarah, Percy, and Bill—as they worry about their missing mother, only to be comforted when she returns. To make the story engaging for our children, we will be using a slightly shorter version of the text, brought to life through a sensory story. A sensory story uses a combination of words and rich sensory experiences—such as textures, sounds, scents, and visual elements—to help children connect with the narrative in a meaningful way.

Our rhyme of the week is "Baa Baa Black Sheep"

Home Learning: Colours
We have been enjoying colours in Birch Room this week. At home if you have paint, you could mix them or talk about the different colours you see in your house or in the environment.
Success Story of the Week!
We are happy to share this week's success story from our Nursery School! With teamwork and creativity, the children, with the help of our dedicated staff, have built a scarecrow to protect our planting area. This delightful project aims to scare away birds and safeguard our growing tomatoes and strawberries.
The children enthusiastically participated in every step, from designing to assembling, and learned about the importance of protecting our plants. This activity not only encouraged teamwork and creativity but also enhance a sense of responsibility and care for the environment.
