Head of school / Day Care Manager 's message
We have had a wonderful autumnal week, the weather has enabled us to make full use of the garden and all the wonderful space it gives. There have been nature walks to the park where the children have explored the nature around them; the colour changes of the leaves, feeling the breeze on their faces and trying to catch the falling leaves. There has been lots of activities around pumpkins; comparing sizes, exploring the textures of both the inside and outside, racing pumpkins to see how far they rolled and even making and tasting pumpkin soup.
Have a great Weekend!

Success Story of the Week!
This week, the Willow room celebrated a unique educational success by making pumpkin soup with our friends in Nursery school, connecting the activity to their story of the week, "Pumpkin Soup" help to create a holistic learning experience. The children eagerly participated in carving and peeling pumpkins and carrots, enhancing their motor skills and coordination. Linking the storytelling with cooking not only enriched their understanding and connection to the story but also supported the development of various EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) outcomes, such as communication development through storytelling, physical development from hands-on tasks, and social skills through teamwork. Additionally, it promoted a better understanding of the world by linking the practical activity to their story, children gained a better understanding of the world around them, including processes involved in cooking and where food comes from.
