Head of school message

We have continued to enjoy our summer, and this week has been as busy as ever.

Acorn Room have been exploring how paint feels as they spread and mix it, using it to practise their mark-making skills.

Conker Room ventured out to the park to look for the Gruffalo, linked to their book of the week. They had great fun searching in the grass and around the trees, and were delighted to successfully find him. The staff were very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm and determination to track down the Gruffalo and bring him back to Nursery.

In Willow Room, the children continued learning about the life of a bee by investigating what a hive looks like. They enjoyed tasting honey, spreading it on their toast, and have also been developing their gross motor skills by balancing on beams and bridges—working out the best way to place them for successful balancing.

The children in Nursery School have had lots of fun exploring The Snail and the Whale. They visited the park to collect sticks, which they used along with fabric to make adventure bags. Together, they created a large painting inspired by the final page of the book.

There has been so much fun and learning thaw wee need the weekend to get ready for next week.

A simple and fun activity you can do with your child is to find various objects around the house and sort them by colour, size, or shape. You might consider using everyday items like toys, buttons, or even clothes. This hands-on experience not only reinforces what we've been learning at nursery but also helps children develop critical thinking and organizational skills.
