Head of school message
We have all had such a busy week with lots of practising our skills for the sports afternoon, trips out, exploring different textures and spending time in the garden.
Acorn Room walked to the lakes, listening out for environmental sounds- such as traffic and birds. The children have also been practising putting on and taking off wellies independently.
Conker Room have been having tea parties, encouraging turn taking and sharing with others. The children helped make chocolate mousse, linked to their story of the week- They then had a great time exploring the texture, making their room smell delicious with the chocolate aroma.
Willow Room made jelly and enjoyed describing how it felt when they touched it. They looked at the difference of wet and dry cornflour and how they could use their fingers to push through it. They had such good fun with this, they then used the cornflour to create their own underwater world!
Nursery School went on a trip to town, visiting some stalls and shops, just like Granny did in their story of the week ‘Granny went to Market’ While they were there, they brought a large world map and when back at Nursery they looked and found all the places talked about in the story. The children have also been learning about how to use the new spades in the digging area safely.
