Head of school message
We have had a great first week of holiday club. The children have shown great interest in superheroes this week and have been dressing as superheroes and discussing their superpowers! And the response to the command 'Avengers Assemble!' has been most impressive! Meanwhile in daycare the children have enjoyed the cooler conditions. We have been outside to experience the feeling and sound of rain-a fairly rare thing outdoors recently! Acorn children went on a trip to the library on Tuesday and loved being out and about in the community. Conker and Willow room children have helped unpack a new messy play station that we have bought for the patio area outside their rooms. We now await the extended potion laboratory...

Home Learning:  Sinking and Floating

Explore the concept of sinking and floating with your child using a simple and fun home activity. Gather various small household items such as a spoon, a cork, a plastic toy, and a pebble. Fill a basin or a large bowl with water and encourage your child to predict whether each item will sink or float before placing them in the water.

Discuss the outcomes and encourage curiosity by asking questions like, "Why do you think this item floats?" or "What makes this one sink?" This hands-on experiment helps develop critical thinking and scientific exploration skills in a playful way.

Success Story of the Week!

We are delighted to share this week's success as the children in Nursery School, have begun exploring the fascinating concept of sinking and floating. Through engaging activities and playful experiments, the children have started to develop an understanding of why some objects sink while others float.

It has been a joy to watch their curiosity flourish as they predict outcomes, test their ideas, and eagerly discuss their observations. The children's enthusiasm and willingness to learn have made this a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
